Super Spring Day (March 23, 2012)

Today had all the components of Spring: babies, yummy fruits, & flowers!!!

Today Jackson is 7 months old & loving life. He LOVES to smile & laugh & stare with those twinkling big blue eyes. He LOVES eating solid foods, except peas & green beans. He adores his big brother, Andrew, & likes grabbing the dog's tail. He is getting really close to crawling, but is already into everything b/c he is a super roller. He also has gotten 2 little teeth & unfortunately sometimes likes to use them on us. He is in 18 month old clothes so I think we are going to have another tall/big boy on our hands.

We are so grateful for our busy blessing & LOVE him so much!!!

After Andrew got home for school, we hopped in the car & drove to The Sweet Berry Farm out in Marble Falls. If you have not been you need to go...it was SO much fun!!!

We even enjoyed the drive out there with BEAUTIFUL bluebonnets & wild flowers growing everywhere on the rolling hills along 1431.

When we arrived there was an old man that greeted us, handed us a picking basket & directed us to which strawberry patch hadn't been picked recently. He was such a fun little farmer man & when he found out this was our first time he said to me, "Well, I have been waiting here for 12 years for you!" SO CUTE!!!

As you can see, there were TONS of strawberries to pick & we absolutely had SO MUCH FUN!!!

They had a little jumping balloon thing so we went ahead & bought a ticket for Andrew & he had SO MUCH FUN!!!

They also had these little ladybugs picture op things & so even though the pictures didn't come out perfectly we just were having SO MUCH FUN!!!!

On the way home we saw this beautiful bluebonnet patch so we just had to stop & get pictures.

Andrew even wanted to take a picture of us too!

We made the boys be brave & laid them down in the bluebonnets. They both weren’t too thrilled about it but we did get some cute pictures.

Jon had heard about a great little diner in Marble Falls that has great homemade pie so we googled it & found it…Bluebonnet Café. We had to have dinner there especially since we had just taken bluebonnet pictures. FUN!!! It really was a cute little diner & even had a place to sit up at the counter if you wanted to. I knew we were in a small town when all the men were calling me mam & holding the doors open for us & some even tipped their hat. SO FUN!!!

The food was SO GOOD & the PIE lived up to all that was promised & more. We had a slice of the coconut cream pie & what a WONDERFUL ending to a wonderful day!!!

Do you think we had a SUPER SPRING DAY or what???

Jackson LOVES eating carrots!

Jackson is 6 Months Old & Green Day (Feb. 23, 2012)

I can't believe Jackson is 6 MONTHS OLD TODAY!!! Wow, time sure has flown by VERY fast.
Now that he is 6 months we start introducing baby foods, so today I made him green beans & peas.

He was okay with the first couple bites...

But then started not liking it so much...

Then he was gagging when I tried to put a bite in his mouth...

So then I let him just play in it to see if that would help him like it better
& he sure did have fun playing in it BUT then...

HATED it, even playing in it! SO SAD!!!

I sure hope his taste changes though b/c I made a lot of that green bean baby food for him.

I hadn't given up all hope though so I tried his rice cereal that he has like before & presto his tears dried up & he couldn't get enough of the rice cereal!!!

Later that night I tried the peas & he didn't like those too! I was so sad b/c now the baby food I made is for naught, but hopefully his tastes will change & he'll learn to love it.

On a happier note, earlier today we bought these green bunny ears at Target ( I LOVE their $1 area) so I tried to do a cute photo shoot with Jackson 

(like I had done with Andrew when he was this age) 

but this is what I got...oh well, I guess that is just how today is going to go. At least I got one cute picture at the end!

Today was a GREEN DAY & a happy 6 MONTHS OLD to Jackson, even though I cried b/c he didn't like the baby food I made him! Oh well, life goes on!!!

Rice Cereal Monster (Feb. 21, 2012)

Jackson was on the floor playing & then all of the sudden he was asleep! SO CUTE!!! I can't believe he is 5 1/2 months old. Wow, time sure has flown by!

Wildcat of the Week (Feb. 3, 2012)

Each week the teachers choose one kid from each grade to be the Wildcat of the Week, & they send home a  chart for the kids to fill out about themselves. Well, this week Andrew was chosen for the Kindergartners!!!

So proud of Andrew for being the WILDCAT OF THE WEEK for his grade!

 I really wanted him to feel special, so Jackson & I surprised him & met him for lunch at school!

He was SO EXCITED & loved telling his friends all about his cute baby brother!


 Then that night we asked Andrew where he wanted to go for dinner to celebrate him being the Wildcat of the Week & he said, "You know that place that has chicken nuggets, I want to go there." Well, after us asking him a couple more questions we figured out he wanted to go to Chili's. After we ate we also gave him the choice of getting dessert at Chili's or having a budget of $10 to get a toy with, of course he chose the toy. So we headed to Walmart & they had these AWESOME deals on their Green Lantern toys so Andrew got all these Green Lantern toys with his $10 budget!!!

We sure did have a FUN time celebrating Andrew being the WILDCAT OF THE WEEK!!!

Folding Laundry (Jan. 31, 2012)

I was folding laundry & threw the socks down by Jackson & he was putting the socks over his eyes & playing peek-a-boo! He is only a little over 5 months old  but knows & LOVES that game!!!

Playdate Fun (Jan. 30, 2012)

Andrew had our neighbor Anthony over today to play & they are having so much fun! 

I am so grateful Andrew has found a good friend that is in his class & lives close to us!

Also I was even a "cool" mom & made them homemade popcorn & also let them eat it in the front room while they watched cartoons, even though we don't usually let our kids eat in the front room! =)

Super Reader! (Jan. 13, 2012)

Andrew came home from school one day in November & said he wanted to become a Super Reader. He told me that to become a Super Reader you had to know all of your sight words & get them right in front of the class. We decided to work hard on memorizing our sight words so he could become a Super Reader.

Well, he came home today just estatic because he was a Super Reader! He got the bracelet & the class yelled "1,2,3 Super Reader!" I am so proud of him! Yeah Andrew, my little Super Reader!!!

Bath Time (Jan. 2, 2012)

Lunch Date (Jan. 3, 2012)

Jon took me out to lunch at County Line Up on the Hill. Even though we still had Jackson with us it still was great & we enjoyed some quality time together! THANKS HUN!!!

Milestone for Jackson (Jan. 11, 2012)

Today I put Jackson down on his play mat while I got some laundry started & when I came back he was on his stomach...he rolled over for the FIRST time!

I am happy & sad he is growing up!

My Little Jumping Bean (Jan. 11, 2012)

Pediatrician (Jan. 10, 2012)

We took Andrew & Jackson to a pediatrician for the first time today, other than when my Dad has checked them. 

Jackson is 28 inches tall (99.9%) & weighs 17 lbs & 4 oz (76%). 

Andrew is 46 inches tall & weighs 50 lbs. 

They are both healthy & ahead in development! So glad everything went good!
